our little man

so we finally got our lap top fixed - hooray!

We are so happy to have J here safe and sound! I'm feeling 100% again after his arrival, which is great!

neither Jordan or J are feeling too good today (a throat cold) but J did get a bath so he smells better! :)

well, i'm just gonna put some pictures up and then take J for a walk!

oh and Dad, in my many walks around the neighborhood I found the skateboard ramp you pushed his stroller up! :)

Having lots of happy dreams!!! His new awake smiles are hard to catch pictures of because he sees the camera and gets really serious or distracted :)

Nesting 101

so far i have...
-sanded and refinished the baby's dresser with Jordan (and put baby's clothes away in it)
-sanded and painted the lower cabinets in the kitchen white
-(and while i had everything out of the cupboards i washed it all)
-painted the handles blue
-filled and painted the finished trim
-touched up paint on the living room ceiling
-cleaned and organized the bathroom closet - now with baby bath tub and towels washcloths
-emptied the baby's room of all random storage stuff and put it away
-cleared the piles of random stuff out of the garage and found places for it
-had jordan put up a shelf and hooks in the baby's room (he said it counts)
-organized and cleaned our closet and put all of the birth stuff in it

still to do...
-pick and can more beans
-paint inside closet in baby's room
-paint last wall of kitchen green (jordan patched the drywall)
... I am sure jordan could tell you more... he says I finish 2 projects and add 3 more :)

I was trying to learn how to knit (got a video from the library) but i've started to retain a bit of water in my hands and the pressure from that on my nerves makes my hands go numb on and off so I set that aside for now... other than the annoying tingliness everything else is going well.

I had a bowl of ice cream sitting on my stomach last night and it was tipping this way and that way. I think The Killers would like to ask him "are we human... or are we dancer?"

time is flying!!!

wow i can't believe that it is already the end of july!!! this little guy is still growing... right when i don't think i can possibly get any larger... and here i am expanding as i type!

it's been pretty busy. Jordan and i just got back yesterday from a 3 night camping trip with the fam. it was a nice time... i am very thankful that on 2 of the days brief thunderstorms kept it cool! (they were expecting it to be in the 90's) yikes!!!

our neighbor lady gave us a gently used pack and play and a baby bathtub yesterday so that's exciting... we are accumulating all of the baby stuff!

i painted the bathroom walls ... i used the "peanut butter" paint from our bedroom... it turned out nice and goes even more nicely with the new towels.

i made a batch of raspberry jam last week! pretty excited about that... Mama Levien helped me pick the rasberries and got me all set up with the pectin and then i went home and made it. tada! pretty proud about doing it. (even though it was easy)

tomorrow i'm planning to get up around 7:00 (while it's cool) to pick our beans and start canning some of those... using my new canner for the first time!

well that's probably about it for now!

Midwife Appointment

Everything is great!
this little guy is still head down and ready to go! so that's good

Blood pressure is excellent!
No signs of gestational diabetes!
His heart beat is strong (in 140's)
and i'm measuring 30 cms now

i scared myself a little today when i woke up
and started making a "to do" list.
well that part is normal! (i am my parents child!)
the list however was a bit tedious, including
emptying all of the kitchen drawers and washing all of the contents...

i decided that it was too early for nesting
and opted for some yard work instead! :)

Camping

i forgot the camera this weekend... so sorry no pictures...
but jordan and i went camping and had a wonderful time!

we left sat after work and stayed till late mon morning... we took kayaks and fishing poles and had such a nice time paddling around and trying to catch my first fish. (next time!)

it was so beautiful where we stayed, all the green hills and then around a corner we'd find a snow covered mountain peak jutting out. beautiful!

it was a little bit interesting trying to get comfortable on a squishy air matress with my huge belly... turning over became quite an ordeal!!! it was nice to sleep in a real bed last night!

we have a midwife apt tomorrow... this little guy is starting to get under my ribs now... i almost said "that's a queer feeling". Jordan and i have been reading C. S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, so that's where that came from.

Pregnancy Updates

so jordan and i went to our midwife appointment on wednesday...

last time i was in my 25th week and measuring 23 cm
this time i was in my 27th week and measuring 27 cm... just right :)
so yeah 4 cm in 2 weeks!!! ... the baby is definatly growing

today i officially start into my 28th week which to me still sounds reasonable... until i flip it and realize that means we have less than 13 weeks till his due date! wow! it's going fast!

My Iron and Blood pressure are good and so is baby's heart.
My midwife also says i have good abs :) nice!

the baby is probably over a foot long now and weighs over 2 pounds!

pretty amazing that God created a womans body to be able to do all of this!
