one other detail
the belly :) don't worry baby you will get more blog attention when you come out to play.
last night when i was updating the blog i remembered why i stopped putting pics up... blogger changed things a while back and you can't see which picture is where so you have to keep checking the preview so that you can put captions on the pictures. Any way... enough whinning! The moral of the story is that i decided that if i update as i take the pics it will be way easier so i busted out the camera today and here we go again. :) (p.s. it was way easier!)
so here are some around the house updates:
my ducks are settling in nicely... they are much noisier than the chickens greeting us with a "waak waak waak" every time we go in or out the back door.
our yard is basically split into 2 sections the "sustaining" side with our garden, chickens and ducks (the garden is doing great this year!)
our most well intentioned garden pest :)
side 2 of our yard "entertaining" note the picnic table... LOVE! we eat outside a lot now!
jordan built this lovely fire pit (with my birthday glider and chairs from M&D Levien)
bye bye deck, hello grass! in just a few weeks you can picture blankets and lawn chairs in this space as our community group hosts our first outdoor movie night. featuring "dispicable me" OF COURSE!
we're going to need a sandbox!
more evidence of things previously mentioned:
J is really into lining things up right now. :)
fun sense of style - "J's hat"... which is a box that his animals from "Weekie" and papa came in. (i confess i let him wear it on a 2 block walk over to my friend's house... i also confess that i did look the other way when we passed a lady walking her dog)

here are some pictures finally.

we got some meat chicks in the spring
2 massacres and a butchering later there have now officially been no survivors
and what better way to celebrate home grown and butchered chicken than authentic nshima.
it's raspberry season...
you have to turn your head, but J is really into lining things up right now...
he also has a very fun sense of style... usually including one of daddy's hats

and worthy of noting... this is the fabulous dinner that jordan prepared for us the other evening :) awesome! devil's food cake with triple chocolate icing! and yellow cake batter ice cream. yum!

Not only did i make corned beef with turnips, cabbage, potatoes, and carrots... but i used the leftovers to make a pot pie :) This "dirty Mc" is makin' you proud! :)
